Our editors checked out the latest TP09 from Dyson, a Powerhouse air purifier that promises to remove Formaldehyde. Here’s what we found:
The Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde is a cooling fan and air purifier in one device. It continuously checked our air quality, cleansed it automatically, and removed toxins, leaving us with beautiful, clean, cool air to breathe.
Since Dyson has a good name for over-engineering its goods, its air purifiers definitely stand out among an ocean of standard box-sized air purifiers. In addition to selling you technology, Dyson also sells works of art.
There is no denying the high cost of Dyson devices. This is also true with the Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde TP09. But how effective is it at purifying the air, and more significantly, is it worth the price Dyson wants to charge for it? We endeavour to respond to such queries.
What did we find new and improved with the Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde?
Despite the fact that Dyson makes a variety of air purifiers, they included a unique solid-state sensor for the Purifier Cool Formaldehyde that lasts as long as the machine.
Furnishings and other woodwork things created with formaldehyde-based resins generate the gas pollutant formaldehyde. Formaldehyde may be released by a variety of materials, including plywood and fiberboard, insulation, and DIY goods including paints, glue, varnishes, and household care supplies.
It is extremely hard to capture, 500 times smaller than 0.1 microns, and, if left unnoticed can remain imprisoned in a house for years. Long-term exposure can deteriorate lung tissue and trigger severe asthma.

Editor’s Opinion and Review: Do we recommend it? The Dyson Cool Formaldehyde Air Purifier uses HEPA H13 Certified Filters
Dyson always appears to be challenging the norm in a variety of ways. Dyson pushes the envelope of what some may deem good value for money in addition to packing its goods to the fullest with the latest advancements.
The filtering system is a HEPA H13 certified sealed system (pass up 0.05 per cent of 0.1-micron particles per litre of air). Nickel/gold (tested) and we had the colour option between white or gold to choose from.
A setback though is that we found the fan was still quite weak and the noise level was quite loud. Apart from this, we found that it was both a highly effective air cleaner and a more-than-adequate cooling fan. When we combine that with Dyson’s high-tech good looks, we got ourselves a very lovely multi-purpose device. This should be on your shortlist of options if you’re looking for an air purifier and the price doesn’t deter you. If formaldehyde isn’t an issue for you, check out the TP04 model, which offers all of the same features at a lesser price.

- Excessive usage of single-use plastic in Dyson’s packaging.
Tech Editor’s Final Verdict and Summary on the Dyson Cool Formaldehyde Air Purifier TP09
Overall very good air purifier which performs as promised. We did a quick test on its cleansing and purifying efficacy by smoking in an enclosed small toom. It took the air around 20 minutes to get rid of the smoke smell, but when the window was open, it only took about 5 to 10 minutes. Overall awesome air purification, we found less sneezing (due to our tester’s sensitivity to dust and allergens), and did not have a dry throat when we awke in an air conditioned room. We would definitely recommend the Dyson TP09. Although it is somewhat more expensive, it is best to pay the extra money to obtain it and enjoy some fresh air.
I’ve tried a number of air purifiers in the past, but because of their noise level, I had to turn them off before going to sleep. I can keep this air purifier on overnight and breathe clean air all through the night because the night mode is so quiet. The walnut furniture pairs beautifully with the gold colour as well.
Originally, I just intended to get the V12 Absolute package, but there was another package included with the TPO9 Air Purifier, so I decided to purchase that. I have never looked back since and have no regrets purchasing it. It has all the qualities of a top-notch purifier, but most importantly, it also eliminates the smell of formaldehyde glue. In addition to eliminating terrible odours, it also notifies you what particles are being picked up and is HEPA 13 certified.
I enjoyed the flexibility of being able to voice-command the TP09 via Google Assistance as well. The purifier was so top-notch in my opinion. Originally I purchased this online and I have no regrets at all. Dyson carries both a unique golden and a nickel colour so you can colour coordinate with your interiors as well.
After using the Dyson air purifier for a week, I absolutely adore it. I love the app functions that let you power it on and off and view its air quality analyses. I must admit that when all windows and doors are open, I cannot detect the difference. I could only tell when the air conditioning was on and when all windows and doors were closed. It’s considerably easier to breathe and I feel my room air is much cleaner.
I was overall very pleased with the TP09, particularly since it can analyze my surroundings intelligently in real-time and present live findings on the LCD screen or via the Dyson Link app on my smartphone. I have more peace of mind knowing that I can simply track, manage, and monitor the air quality.
