Our Kitchen and Tech Editor’s Review of Sterra S, the Highly Raved Water Dispenser and Purifier from home brand Sterra.
An Introduction: The Drop of Life: My Personal Water Routine
If there is one “holy grail” secret to staying healthy, it is to drink a lot of water.
It is essential to drink enough water every day. Drinking water can keep you from dehydrating, making it hard to think, changing your mood, making your body overheat, and causing constipation and kidney stones.
Usually, I drink a glass of water when I wake up to keep my body hydrated after a long night’s sleep. About an hour after breakfast, I have a glass of water and start my work day. Most days, I drink between 5 and 6 glasses of water, and my spouse drinks one glass less than I do.
On the kitchen counter, there is a hot water kettle and a thermal flask with hot water. In the fridge, there is a bottle of cold water. This is how I kept water for my family of two: I boiled it, then kept it warm, cool, or cold as needed.
It never really bothered me. But since we’re staying home more often, it’s nice to have a smart home that makes chores more manageable. You can get water at any temperature with a button tap. Isn’t that great?
This is why I was first interested in the energy-efficient Sterra S tankless water dispenser. It works and isn’t just for show. A tankless water dispenser takes up less space, is less bulky, and looks sleek on a kitchen counter. There are two colours for the Sterra S water dispenser and purifier: Chromium Grey and Platinum White. It looked pretty hot on my counter.

Drinking clean healthy water has never been such an urgent priority
We cannot survive without water. It is essential for numerous bodily processes, such as supplying nutrition to cells, eliminating waste, safeguarding joints and organs, and regulating body temperature.
Your go-to beverage should almost always be water. Your recommended daily water intake varies based on your exercise level, health status, height, weight, gender, and other factors.
There are many different drinks available. Water is the most incredible liquid to drink to stay hydrated initially. Drinking the recommended amount of water for your activity level and personal health is crucial.
Sterra, a household brand in Singapore
I’m familiar with the brand Sterra because I owned a Sterra Moon Air Purifier. Sterra is a Singaporean company that was started to make life better. They think that everyone should be able to live at home in comfort, health, and ease. They take great pride in giving their customers high-quality, well-designed products and excellent customer service at prices they can afford. In addition to air and water purifiers, Sterra also sells quality mattresses under its brand.
Test and Review Factor #1) The Aesthetics: What Do I think of the aesthetic appeal of the Sterra S Tankless Water Dispenser and Purifier?
The Sterra S tankless water dispenser and purifier’s smooth contours and clean lines appeal to contemporary homeowners who value aesthetics like me. It has a modern, sleek appearance that will look great in any kitchen. This tankless water dispenser and purifier is ideal for Singaporean family use because of its small dimensions (18.2 cm in width by 50.9 cm in depth by 40.3 cm in height) and tankless design, which eliminates the need for large water storage tanks.
Test and Review Factor #2) The Era of Convenience. Water at Different Temperatures & Volume.
We live in an age of convenience, and many things in a modern home claim to make life easier and simpler. With Sterra S water dispenser and purifier, I can instantly have my ideal cup of cold, ambient, warm, or hot water at 4, 25, 40, or 87°C.
- No need to wait for the water to boil to make the perfect cup of coffee in the morning;
- No need to reach for ice cubes to enjoy a drink of iced water in the hot afternoon;
- No need to water for heated water to cool or drink from the tap for room temperature water!
During my test, all I had to do was press a single button, and the Sterra S water dispenser and purifier met my need for water at the right temperature. This saved me a lot of time. It could dispense water without my help, giving me more time to do other things. This was helpful, especially during the morning rush.
I can also choose how much water I want to dispense: 120 mL, 250 mL, or 550 mL through the preset button.
The water dispenser and purifier has a smart child-lock feature that keeps kids from dispensing warm or hot water by accident.
Since I’ll use the dispenser and purifier often to make coffee and tea, I must ensure it dispenses water at the right temperature. For my measurements, I took 550 mL of cold, warm, and hot water, respectively. The water temperature didn’t change much, so everything is fine. This makes it a good choice for brewing hot drinks like coffee and tea, where too high a temperature can give them a bitter taste.
Test and Review Factor #3) Cutting-Edge Filtration. Safe and Delicious Water.
The Sterra S dispenser and purifier has a 2-in-1 Sediment & Pre-Carbon Block Filter that filters out suspended solids like dust, rust, and sand. The carbon block section soaks up organic compounds like chlorine and disinfectant and gets rid of them. It also has a 2-in-1 UF and Post-Carbon Block Filter that helps remove harmful contaminants and pathogenic bacteria. The chlorine and residual toxic compounds are absorbed again to eliminate odours and make the water taste fresher.
Test and Review Factor #4) Hassle-Free. Complete Inner and Outer Sterilisation
Don’t worry about maintenance if you are. The Sterra S water dispenser and purifier keep the unit clean by taking a whole-systems approach. I was told that the inner pipes are cleaned by electrolytic sterilisation, which may sound like a lot. Even in high-end models, this one-of-a-kind feature is rare.
What I liked was that the UV Automated Sterilisation at the nozzle cleans the water nozzle when it is tucked into the unit by shining ultraviolet light on it. This stops bacteria from growing without you having to do anything.
You only need to change the filter. There are only 2 modules to the filter system. The twist & turn design makes it easy to remove the canister and attach a new one.
Test and Review Factor #5) Smart Device. Energy-Friendly, Wallet-Friendly.
Is this tankless hot and cold water dispenser and purifier energy-&-wallet-friendly?
Tank water purifiers or dispensers store water in hot and cold tanks to be used later. They need a steady energy supply to keep the water at the right temperature. Depending on its size, the electricity bill goes up and uses more power.
This Sterra water dispenser and purifier is an innovative, energy-efficient device. When it’s not in use, it goes into standby mode, which uses very little electricity (13W).
It uses more energy when you turn on the cold, warm, or hot water function. My power consumption readings read as such: Less power is needed for its hot water function than for an electric kettle to boil water (2900W). Specifically, the Sterra S dispenser uses 2464W for hot water, 1088W for warm water, and 36.9W for chilled water functions.

Our Overall Sentiment: What did we think of Sterra S Water Dispenser and Purifier?
The Sterra S water dispenser and purifier is the best water dispenser there is. It has a sleek, artistic design and is very light. It can dispense water at four different temperatures: hot, cold, room temperature, and warm temperature (temperature range of 4, 25, 40, and 87°C).
It has a 4-stage filtration system that removes all suspended particles, solids, chlorine, bacteria that can make you sick, and bad smells. This gives you clean, fresh water that doesn’t taste metallic or rusty. This is because the pores are so tiny. They are only 0.001 microns wide, which is only ten times wider than the pores in reverse osmosis plants.
The UV sterilisation with the Sterra tankless water dispenser cleans the nozzle as the water comes out. It can take care of itself, which is the most exciting thing about it. It has an electric steriliser module that uses electrolysis to clean the water flow inside the machine.
You can also choose how much you want to dispense, between 120, 250, and 550 ml, or as much as you want.
The Sterra water dispenser also has a filter change indicator that lets me know when it’s time to change the filter. This helps make sure that I always get fresh, high-quality water.
It has low-cost replacement filters (less than $150 per year, or 41 cents a day), a free lifetime warranty for parts, and uses little electricity so it will save me money year after year.
Our Tech Editor’s conclusion and summary of the Sterra S Water Dispenser and Purifier.
From our test and in-depth review, we enjoyed using the Sterra S tankless water dispenser as a whole. The water tasted better and cleaner, and it’s beneficial! Many thanks to the crew of Sterra, who are always lovely, knowledgeable, and helpful. The whole process of buying and setting up the water purifier was easy and fun.
Even though I know it’s safe to drink water straight from the tap in Singapore, there are often small amounts of chlorine, lead, and mercury in the water that doesn’t go away even when it’s boiled at 100°C.
Using the Sterra S water dispenser helps improve the overall water quality for my family by removing sediment particles and any harmful contaminants that may form and travel through the water pipes.
If you leave water out for an extended period or overnight without adequately storing it in stainless steel bottles, carbon dioxide from the air can mix with the water and make it taste bad. With Sterra S, water is always fresh. There’s no need to worry about drinking stagnant water.
My water stayed at a neutral pH level and had less TDS because of the Sterra S water dispenser and purifier. TDS is the number of solids dissolved in water. It is the number of things dissolved in water other than water molecules that turn into hydrogen and oxygen.
According to the Specialty Coffee Association (SCAA), the recommended pH is between 6.5 and 7.5 to ensure that a cup of coffee is well-balanced.
Without a doubt, every home in Singapore needs a Sterra S water dispenser and purifier. The Sterra S water dispenser and purifier make it easy to drink clean water at any temperature you want.
It looks sleek on my kitchen countertop. It looks good wherever you put it.
If cost is important to you, you’ll be glad to know that the Sterra S water dispenser and purifier is one of the water purifiers with the most competitive prices on the market.
