Although Eero’s mesh Wi-Fi systems have been available for a few years, the company’s name isn’t as well-known as Netgear and Linksys. However, because it is now owned by Amazon, you’ll most likely see the Eero name at the top of the search results if you’re looking for a new mesh system online.

It reported download and upload speeds of 100Mbps and 11Mbps, respectively, which is the maximum supported by our service, and those speeds were consistent for devices in the same area as the primary Eero router, as well as in the backroom with one of the secondary extenders. Steam transfers were also very strong, with both rooms maintaining a consistent speed of 12MB/s. Although the sophisticated capabilities of Wi-Fi 6 come at a price, if you’re looking for a cheap wifi update that’s ideal for larger homes with a lot of connected smart devices, the Eero 6 fits the criteria without breaking the bank.
